So cement is a good mineral binder. Cement can be not only hardened in the air, but also better hardened in the water in which it will maintain and develop strength. So cement is kind of cementitious material which will be of stronger hardness in water. Cement mil is used for cement grinding. Cement crusher is applied for cement crushing. Mosaics as evidently seen in buildings, houses, churches, walkways, installations and the like come with distinguishing designs or images that have been formed by using stone, glass of different colors and other materials (much like the ones used by our ancestors). Designs and images vary depending on its use and symbols. It shows an intricate exploration of creativity and design that depicts the culture, spiritual beliefs and lifestyle of the people. Mosaics come in different sizes and forms and standard tile products come in cubic form. The tesserae or diminutive tessellae is the term used for colored glass or stone in cube like form.

Glass mosaics are prominently seen and adorn cathedrals and even homes. Beautiful and intricate designs range from animals, saints, landscape or even family members. Glass mosaics are gaining popularity among homeowners. They can be very attractive and the durability it possesses is well observed in bathrooms and kitchens.

Grout- is composed of cement, tint, sand (or in such cases fine gravel), and applied with water and hardens after some time. It is used to as a sealant, a filling for tiles or a reinforcing material to embed stones, concrete or tiles. Grouts have different varieties depending on the kind of tiles or work it needs to be used on. Some solvents are also available to apply on dry grouts to make it more durable against oil, chemicals or water.

Tools used to apply and remove grout varies by function some have tungsten carbide blades to remove unwanted grouts (grout scraper), and some have rubber/plastic to smoothen grouts (grout float), Here are some simple steps on how you can start with your very own glass mosaic. Be sure to have proper equipment (such as masks), glass cutters, gloves, etc.

Draw an outline on the surface you want your design to be placed on. As a beginner, it is not advisable to make intricate designs (you can do this when you develop the necessary skills in placing and cutting tiles). Your own design would be better.Identify the colors of the glass mosaic tiles that you are going to use. It is important to consider symmetry and balance when you identify and place the tiles.Start gluing the glass tiles one at a time on the surface (you can even use thinset, or in some cases, Welbond glue is very good), making sure that the gaps are not too wide. Balance the gaps to maintain uniformity.Wait for the glue to settle and start applying grout and avoid glass mosaic tiles from moving. Make it a point to use grout which contrasts with the color of the glass. It will make the glass mosaic tiles to stand out.

Making glass mosaics takes a lot of patience, diligence and efficiency. It cannot be finished in one or 2 hours. But once you are done, it is a masterpiece to behold.
