Be sure to have proper equipment (such as masks), glass cutters, gloves, etc.
Draw an outline on the surface you want your design to be placed on. As a beginner, it is not advisable to make intricate designs (you can do this when you develop the necessary skills in placing and cutting tiles). Your own design would be better.Identify the colors of the glass mosaic tiles that you are going to use. It is important to consider symmetry and balance when you identify and place the tiles.Start gluing the glass tiles one at a time on the surface (you can even use thinset, or in some cases, Welbond glue is very good), making sure that the gaps are not too wide. Balance the gaps to maintain uniformity.Wait for the glue to settle and start applying grout and avoid glass mosaic tiles from moving. Make it a point to use grout which contrasts with the color of the glass. It will make the glass mosaic tiles to stand out.
Making glass mosaics takes a lot of patience, diligence and efficiency. It cannot be finished in one or 2 hours. But once you are done, it is a masterpiece to behold.
