The first thought that covered my mind was proper flooring, when we first thought of renovating our home. Floors get dirty and look messy without proper maintenance, and maintenance is not so easy. So we decided upon a low maintenance flooring option. However, that’s not enough. Looks matter a lot. Our floors should look beautiful and out of this world. We were left to lunch when we thought of buying the right flooring material for our beloved place “Home”. After much research and discussions we decided to install natural stone flooring in our home exteriors and interiors. Despite being a costly option, the choice of natural stone flooring was unanimous. First, we love to have natural metals and gemstones for our jewelry-pieces. These are very costly as compared to their imitations. However, our first choice is always natural metal and gemstone for us. It is natural to install flooring with natural stone in its category. Intricately done floorings will look beautiful and authentic. These will bring a shine in our eyes and a satisfaction in our hearts. Second, natural stone flooring is available in different stones including sandstone and limestone for exteriors and slate, marble and granite for interiors. Granite and marble were common for interior and exterior flooring but we decided upon sandstone for its characteristics. It absorbs water and is resistant to adverse climatic conditions. It is best to give a rugged and natural look to flooring. Stepping stones are ideal in landscaping and as paving materials. These do not break when sun shines high and temperatures sore high and stay calm under stormy weathers. The choice of sandstone was right in exterior flooring. Slate seemed to be a fine option because it matched with our flooring style and was in our budget also. Slate Flooring Tiles looked absolutely divine as this natural stone was available as shaded stone. We were able to experiment with flooring style and created a floor that turned everyone green with envy. Wows! Slate flooring was truly to our heart’s contentment. On second thoughts, we planned to have slate roofing tiles for strong and leak-proof roofing and gorgeous looks. Granite is costliest and most exotic in its looks. The hardest of all flooring stones casts an aura of its own when installed in large spacious areas. Designs like circles, mosaic medallions could be installed in different areas of our place. Granite stone is non-porous and casts an aura of its own when polished properly. The best part is that this Natural Stone flooring tile doesn’t need much maintenance. Regular cleaning is enough to keep the stone sparkling for decades. This is the reason that it was our first choice for flooring. Granite is ideal for kitchen tops as it is non-porous, sophisticate in looks, available in different colors and shades, easy to maintain and above all available all across the world, courtesy natural stone India. Marble matched with our idea of stairs and we installed matching marble steps. Marble steps are strong, need little maintenance, cast beautiful looks; give a meaning to steps, and last for centuries, when taken care-of.
